Why do we waste time fighting each other?

At every level of human conflict, whether it be two people racing for the same cab or whether it be an oil rich country being blown to pieces by a country that requires aa shit load of oil, the human drama element is always based on some predisposed prejudice regarding a small, usually irrelevant, part of the issue being discussed.

The fact is that the vast majority of people are absolutely impervious to facts. Test the average man by asking him to listen to a simple sentence which contains one word with associations to excite his prejudices, fears or passions -- he will fail to understand what you have said and reply by expressing his emotional reaction to the critical word. It was long before I understood this fact of psychology. Even to this day, it surprises me that there should be minds which are unable to accept any impression equably and critically.

Aleister Crowley

This is the fundamental issue surrounding the human drama, we are seemingly incapable of taking in any information in a truly objective fashion, instead forming an opinion on the subject at hand the tendency is to begin with an already formed idea of a generally unrelated situation that bears some slight similarity to the one being discussed.

In the hodge podge of perspectives that is modern life there are those who revert to techniques which really aren't all that constructive in terms of having a productive discussion.

Let us summmarise the two ends of this political idiocy that so dominates any and all issues discussed by politicians and people with political interests alike.

Now there are a few variations of tards.

A libtard holds extreme liberal beliefs based on little more than what he or she wants to hear. Most information received will be internally filtered or even changed into something that better fits into their liberal worldview.

Libtards believe dressing like a revolutionary negates the need to act like one and are generally unable to elaborate beyond a few standard mantras when questioned about their principles.

A contard holds extreme conservative beliefs based on little more than what he or she wants to hear. Most information received will be internally filtered or even changed into something that better fits into their conservative (and often religious) worldview.

Libtards and contards will often have the same attitudes and pigheadedness, though neither side sees the irony.

Beyod those who are searching for nothing more than confirmation of their own prejudices comes the more complex sheep.

A person who is politically conservative to an extreme degree, often with no sound intellectual basis for his or her beliefs is called a conservatard.

Conservatards, in contratst with contards, believe that loud volume, beligerence, and personal attacks trump logic and reasoning in any argument.

In a conservatard's eyes, logic and reasoning are used by communists and hippies to warp the minds of the innocent young, and therefore must be avoided at all costs.

When engaged in political discourse, conservatards change subjects often; preferring to point out unrelated (or even fabricated) examples of liberal folly from 20 years ago rather than directly addressing the topic at hand.
Some conservatards like to use large words like "misunderestimate" and "nukular" to impress others with their advanced grasp of English vocabulary, and by extension, their intelligence.
When cornered the conservatard will verbally attack their opposition, usually calling them a dirty, lazy pothead who has nothing better to do than protest.

Conservatards generally have no concept of history, and in fact, may not even be able to read above a third grade level.
Most of their belief structure is dictated to them by a television, they believe any concern for the environment warrants the label of do gooding hippie as though it were a derogatory statement and whether aware of it or not they participate in a Post-medieval witch hunt for anyone capable of thinking for themselves, a fine testiment to mankind's inherent fear of change and difference which will inevitably lead to its own destruction.

And so this cycle continues...the majority of social decisions are made based on personal politics and knee jerk reactions.

Even more problematic is the inability to admit being wrong, despite the fact maintaining the same convictions continuously despite new information being brought to light is the height of arrogance....

And yet these two factors combine to form the basic foundation of the current system...though i believe there is change afoot..

The information age is not without its benefits...
